The Role

The Operations Engineer I position requires an entry level degree of technical and coding competencies while providing support to various CenturyLink organizations. This position assumes ownership and accountability in areas of recognized coding expertise. Principle work includes identifying ways to improve Network Reliability and Customer Satisfaction with knowledge of Voice & Transport networks

The Main Responsibilities

• Provide automation solutions to meet customer goals and requirements within existing automation environments (Itential, Laser, IAA, UI Path and SPLUNK).
• Evaluate new automation requirements for compatibility with deployed systems as well as existing products for compatibility and applicability.
• Develop & document process and automation flows.
• Create and maintain network documentation and reports as required .

What We Look For in a Candidate

Minimum:

• Bachelor?s degree or 5+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with isolation of telecom and/or network outage causes, service restorations and root cause analysis
• Proficient PC skills in office applications and network connectivity configuration
• Proficient presentation skills for presentations to technical and non-technical audiences; must be able to translate technical terms and concepts to non-technical entities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Unix/Linux systems
• Experience interfacing with databases and APIs
• Strong scripting/coding background (Perl, Python, Java)
• Strong communication (oral and written), customer service, organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Highly self-motivated and directed
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Strong customer service orientation
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
