ADJUSTER Full-time

Olin Corporation is a leading vertically integrated global manufacturer and distributor of chemical products and a leading U.S. manufacturer of ammunition. The chemical products produced include chlorine and caustic soda, vinyls, epoxies, chlorinated organics, bleach and hydrochloric acid. Winchester, with its principal manufacturing facilities in East Alton, IL and Oxford, MS, produces and distributes sporting ammunition, law enforcement ammunition, reloading components, small caliber military ammunition and components, and industrial cartridges.

Winchester, a division of Olin and a worldwide leader in the manufacture of commercial small caliber and military ammunition, is currently recruiting for multiple ADJUSTER positions for 2nd, 3rd, and weekend shift at our production facility located in Oxford, MS.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This mechanically oriented position requires the ability to set up equipment for production while troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment as necessary, in addition to running production machinery as required in the production of rifle and pistol ammunition. This task includes machinery changeover for different products, while making machine adjustments and performing routine maintenance to ensure that quality and productivity goals are met. The position has a pay range up to $20.60 per hour.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Position requires the employee to operate multiple machines simultaneously
  • Will transport raw material from storage area to production areas via means of forklift or other production type transportation devices
  • Uses various hand tools to make mechanical adjustments and repairs on production machinery
  • Uses various calipers, micrometers and other quality measuring devices to measure and record production part OD, length, etc. including vi sual inspection of material utilizing computerized equipment
  • Required to clean out and clear machine jams on hoppers, as needed.
  • Completes machine change over and set ups utilizing quality specifications for various products including changing dies and related parts as needed
  • Required to troubleshoot and repair various production equipment
  • Required to train new hires, transfers and trainees and assists supervision in providing performance feedback to supervision
  • Utilizes general housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe work environment
  • Utilizes best work practices to insure safety of all
  • Champions Lean Manufacturing concepts to insure that quality meets the customers standards and satisfaction
This position is compensated in a pay range from $18.00 to $20.60 per hour.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE - REQUIRED

  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment required with 1 year preferred
  • Experience in the mechanical field, in the use of hand and power tools and problem solving skills required with 1 year preferred
  • Shift hours available: 2nd (3:30pm - 11:30pm), 3rd (11:30pm - 7:30am), and Weekend Shift (Fri-Sun 7:30am - 7:30pm or 7:30pm - 7:30am)
  • Ability to understand manuals and verbal technical instruction
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct a variety of mechanical problems with 1 year related experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a high volume production environment
  • Minimum of 90 days employment with Winchester in the past 6 months

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE - PREFERRED

  • Experience operating forklift and / or other type production transportation equipment
  • A minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience
