The Role

As a Lumen Lead Contracts Manager, you will manage complex vendor agreements and relationships across multiple commodities. This includes delivering against corporate initiatives related to cost reduction, cost avoidance, supplier rationalization and continually benchmarking purchasing and process practices to effectively translate the analysis into action. Provide subject matter expertise and be a trusted advisor in regards to vendor management, sourcing, and procurement.

The Main Responsibilities
  • Negotiates / re-negotiate new and existing agreements or statements of work, including RFI?s and RFP?s
  • Prepares RFx documents, communication plans, and contract awards
  • Actively partner with legal teams and business unit stakeholders to develop and execute negotiation strategies that include optimal targets for pricing, service, and quality.
  • Continually identify and implement new opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance and proactively tracks these objectives
  • Implement and measures cost savings, reduction and avoidance programs and strategies. Continually refine these programs to deliver optimal results for the company.
  • Responsible for vendor / supplier management. Conduct supplier rationalization and segmentation initiatives. Proactively review supplier performance and adherence to contractual terms. Lead business reviews and deliver resolution on difficult issues through effective negotiation tactics.
  • Manages $100M in annual spend.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree
  • +7 years related experience
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of procurement systems and e-sourcing tools - SAP, Ariba or Oracle
  • Intaermediate to Advanced professional experience with contracts and negotiation
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence and motivate others with new ideas and concepts up to C-Level stakeholders
  • Process management and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team evnironment; self motivated
  • Ability to process large amounts of often complex data; detail oriented
  • Able to navigate a fast-paced environment with working with remote teams
  • Excellent time management skills

Preferred:

  • Subject matter expert in telecom network implementatioin
  • Master's degree or J.D.
  • Procurement related certifications through ISM, American Purchasing Society or other recognized entity.
