    Summary

    Responsibilities

    • Serve as a Sr. Realty Specialist applying real estate regulations, principles and practices, and executing complex realty duties.
    • Determine most effective relocation assistance tools and benefits to offer displaced persons, businesses, farm operation, and non-profit organizations after interviewing displaced person.
    • Represent the Division for assigned projects and routinely meets with customers, Division and Branch Chiefs, and staff to match real estate requirements with overall project deadlines and requirement.
    • Review building management requirements, contractor estimates for alterations, maintenance and modifications and acts as a team leader in monitoring the progress of all scheduled work on leased facilities.
    • Serve as an expert on real estate acquisition and relocation policies, methodologies and regulations including recent guidance and practice.
    • Provide policy guidance to staff, other Corps districts, federal agencies and various state and local officials, and advise higher authority regarding unique programs and requirements.

    • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
    • Must possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License .
    • Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel required 25% of the time.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.     Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Serving in a Realty Specialist or related position with technical expertise of real estate principles, policies and methodologies in managing government real estate functions to include planning, acquisition, mapping, appraisal, disposal, leases, easements, outgrants, licenses, or permits; (2) Managing project workloads, schedule and budgets; and (3) Reviewing, interpreting, and providing guidance on real estate issues, policies, and changes impacting real estate actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

    • This announcement uses the DHA for USACE for Real Estate Personnel direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.
