Avionics Technician Full-time

Sikorsky Aircraft a Lockheed Martin Company is seeking a Senior Technician to support the Black Hawk helicopter program Avionics Systems Integration and Test.
Summary of Key Duties for this position:
Perform work from Test procedures, engineering drawings, and manufacturing process plans.
  • Support test operations in areas of cabling, test equipment, test procedures, computers and software loading. This would include sub-system / system test and final close out activities.
  • Support both laboratory test operations and production operations.
  • Perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or RF areas.
  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, tests, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Work from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Operate related equipment; conduct tests and report data in prescribed format.
  • Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepare prescribed compounds and solutions.
  • Maintaining System Integration Lab, maintenance records and generating repair work instructions.
  • Troubleshoot Avionic systems including; Communication, Navigation, Mission and Displays at a System Level.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Associated degree with 4 years Avionics/Aircraft experience or Technical High School Diploma degree and 6 years? Avionics Technician experience.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of proper use of standard hand tools and test equipment.
  • Ability to complete routine work instructions with general supervision and complete jobs in new lines of work or special assignments with detailed work instructions
  • Ability to work shift work and weekend work when required
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge or experience in Assembly and Test
  • Mechanical experience/background ? aircraft/aviation power plant, automotive, and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Electrical harness experience and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge or experience in reviewing/generating engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge or experience in use of oscilloscopes, voltmeters, bus analyzers and common avionic test equipment.
  • Knowledge or experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and engineering drawing generation tools.
  • Knowledge or experience in troubleshooting using aircraft schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Must be well organized and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge or experience in conducting test from a written Engineering Test Procedure.
