Position summary
T-Mobile USA is a leading provider of digital GSM/GPRS, UMTS, and LTE wireless voice and data technology standards. Telecom Design Engineer II located in Overland Park, KS will Research, design, plan, develop, and evaluate new, advanced network technologies by translating requirements or strategic business objectives into final product design for projects that are highly complex.
Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Research, design, plan, develop, and evaluate new, advanced network technologies by translating requirements or strategic business objectives into final product design for projects that are highly complex. Assess networked application needs, provide network modeling and simulation testing, and engineer high-speed technology network transports to deliver application functionality. Use professional concepts, and apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. Works on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. As part of the Network Interface Development team in the Network Development organization, analyze, design, and develop new complex LTE RAN technologies and features. Assist senior engineers with validating new LTE features TDD/FDD Interworking, including UE and E-UTRAN interoperability, LTE feature analysis, design, integration, and test. Analyze device modem performance in LTE (FDD and TDD). Perform RAN parametric optimization studies. Validate LTE protocol requirements on multi-band LTE modems. Work across Network Development, Device, Research, and OEM Organizations to meet goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
Skill requirements:
Experience must include: networked application needs; network modeling and simulation testing; engineering high-speed technology network transports to deliver application functionality; project management and project implementation; device modem or chipset design; debug analysis; and Qualcomm testing, debugging, and protocol analysis.
Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and two (2) years' experience RF engineering or related role
