Part Time Technology Specialist Full-time

Helps customers find the correct computer hardware and software to meet their needs. Informs supervisor of the status of merchandise as dictated by the needs of the given time. Keeps Sales floor stocked and clean. Assists customers with any and all computer problems. Understands computer terminology and shows the ability to communicate it to the customer.

Supervision Given and Received
Receives direct supervision from the Technology Manager at the KU Bookstores. Position does not supervise other employees.

Essential Functions
1. Helps customers find the correct computer hardware and software to meet their needs
2. Informs supervisor of the status of merchandise as dictated by the needs of the given time.
3. Keeps Sales floor stocked and clean.
4. Assists customers with any and all computer problems
5. Understands computer terminology and shows the ability to communicate it to the customer.

Additional Responsibilities
1. Willingness to help in other departments if necessary.
2. Complete Apple Sales Training Program.

Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
1. Must be knowledgeable about Dell, Apple & HP computer systems.
2. Ability to effectively demonstrate the features of a computer.
3. Ability to lift heavy weights and stand for long periods to perform inventory and stock clerk work.
4. Must possess ability to communicate clearly in the English language.
5. Must be personable and have the ability to work with a wide range of customers.

Minimum Qualifications
1. High School diploma.
2. Strong working knowledge of hardware specifications and needs.

Preferred Qualifications
1. Prefer previous technical sales experience.
