Job Description Summary:

The Safety Communication Manager is responsible for creating informative and engaging content for J.B. Hunt?s Safety Department. They will collaborate with various teams and three distinct business units within the enterprise to provide custom training content and communication materials. The individual should be able to develop effective, creative, visually impactful material to support campaigns and internal initiatives in the form of video, digital, and print.

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Develop custom content focused on company policies, regulatory compliance, and safety-based training and serve as the primary point of contact for driver training and communication.
  • Plan and manage projects and work with internal teams and stakeholders to deliver content and training that?s relevant to the goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Maintain a training roadmap, which pushes applicable and strategic training content in the form of videos, written briefings, FAQs, collateral postings, and presentations. Ensure content aligns with business objectives, equipment and technology rollouts, as well as national/federal safety campaigns.
  • Compose all scripts, plan and manage all in-house video production.
  • Meet deliverables for monthly and quarterly training.
  • Create content and templates that are aligned with company branding guidelines.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments and stakeholders to identified areas of opportunity to strengthen processes and procedures while minimizing company?s risk and exposure with training and content development.
  • Manage the company?s Learning Management System and work with Engineering and Technology teams to further enhance and troubleshoot issues surrounding the LMS.


  • Four-year college degree and/or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience and 2 years of management experience.
  • The individual should have strong project management skills, the ability to multitask, and lead through ambiguity.
  • Must possess excellent communications skills and public speaking, both oral and written; strong attention to detail is required.
  • Knowledge of Federal/State employment practice requirements and Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations is preferred.
  • Position may require up to 25% travel.
