Description:
The Scheduler-Buyer will plan and schedule production for four key manufacturing areas of the business: Meat Slices, Kits, and Sandwiches, Hand-Stacked Meats, and ReadyCarved Meats as well as execute the daily purchasing for all incoming meat supply.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Create, schedule and maintain Meat manufacturing and WIP components (kits, meat, sauce and bread) across six different production rooms to minimums assigned attributed to Demand, as garnered by S&OP, POs, and historical inputs
  • After meat schedule is created, the schedule needs to be published to all relevant stakeholders
  • Create all shop orders for the schedule, which are then distributed via IFS (Grecian Delight ERP System), and then evaluate efficiency and completion post production
  • Monitor daily raw meat inventories, adjust orders, and maintain all meat spreadsheets every time the schedule is changed
  • Run material usage variance reports and shop order report queries from prior day/week to catch errors in reporting or discrepancies in what was planned vs. what was produced. Cancel unused shop orders
  • Monitor inventories daily vs. scheduled orders and forecast to prevent customer shortages and MTO IFS alerts
  • Notify Customer Care of any shortages and managing emergency schedule changes. If schedule changes occur, then all the shop orders and schedules need to be modified and re-sent out and all parties involved are notified of changes. QA, Purchasing, Maintenance, Production, Customer Care, etc.
  • Create Purchase Orders for the ordering of a few fresh raw materials and finished goods produced with our suppliers to meet the schedule requirements
  • Plan and execute the logistics of all Meat raw materials to enable the production schedule
  • Interact with QA and Procurement on inbound meat standards/supply to ensure supplier compliance.
Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Four-Year College Degree is required
  • 7+ years of experience in planning, buying, and scheduling food/ingredient production, preferably in Food Manufacturing; experience in the Foodservice a plus, with Retail secondary
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and strategic thinking skills leveraging tools and technology
  • Strong competency in Microsoft Excel, S&OP, ERP mandatory
  • Experience in Advance Demand Planning, MRP would be added benefits
  • Strong communication skills (can influence and create win-win situations with production/sales)
  • Excellent collaborator with a demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams
  • Able to work with Procurement, Operations, Marketing, Sales, and Commercialization
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment (Detail oriented, thorough)
  • Managerial courage to make tough calls with cross-functional peers to progress project(s)
  • English speaking with Spanish a value-added benefit
