Job Overview:

Virence Health is looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to work on exciting project(s) in the Analytics products team that will have a very positive impact on Virence’s health business.

Essential Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for designing highly complex modules, critical components or a whole application in its entirety. Has the vision to integrate it across multiple systems. This position works independently and is seen as a technical leader. Also responsible for driving the design and development efforts related to architecture, scalability, availability and performance in alignment with the product/application roadmap.

In this role you will:

  • Design and Develop modules and or an application, with an ability to take a deep dive in the implementation aspects if the situation demands.
  • Be responsible for providing technical leadership in defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment
  • Responsible for developing for performance and security strategies for the product.
  • Responsible for ensuring secure, cost effective, scalable and quality solutions.
  • Provide guidance to developers with planning, execution and/or design architecture using agile methodologies such as SCRUM
  • Drive increased efficiency within the team by eliminating duplication, promote product and technology reuse
  • Leads the architecture and design efforts across the product / multiple product versions and is an expert in architecting custom solutions off the base product.
  • Expert in core data structures as well as algorithms and the ability to implement them using language of choice.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
  • A minimum of 8 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across disciplines and functions within a product OR Master’s degree with 6 years of experience OR PhD with 3 years of experience.

Technical Expertise:

  • Profound expertise in cloud infrastructure and architecture like Azure or AWS technologies.
  • Experience developing cloud enabled applications (Spring, Java, Python and Javascript) using standard frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns and Web Service coding principles and Cloud Design patterns.
  • Experience in evaluating and recommending various technologies including Open source to meet the product requirements.
  • Experience in UI framework such as Angular etc. and HTML, CSS, JSON & RESTful services.
  • Expertise in developing middle tier for Queuing, Caching, Rules engine and Interoperable components.
  • Experience with Azure SQL, SSAS and Big Data/NoSQL technologies.
  • Prior experience with Power BI, Kafka, HBase and Spark a plus.
  • Prior experience with gamification platforms is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Able to effectively direct and mentor others in critical thinking skills. Proactively engages with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions.
  • Ability to identify all facets of an issue and generate a solution that takes downstream impacts into consideration.

Eligibility Requirements: (Country Specific)

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Virence may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Seattle.
