Senior Finance Manager Full-time

Amazon is looking for a Senior Finance Manager to join an exciting new project team working to build a completely new best in class consumer product. This Finance leader will play an active role in influencing financial, strategic and operational decisions.


Primary responsibilities will be to drive/support the overall product development from initial product inception to product launch and then continuing over the lifetime of the product. The ideal candidate will possess a keen sense of ownership for building a new business from the ground up, as well as a track record of identifying key business questions and building analyses to answer those questions in an ambiguous environment. We are looking for someone that has strong analytical and communication skills, with an ability to articulate financial strategy, results and forecasts to senior leadership. Scrappiness is a must, as is the ability to dive deep in to the data to help the new business achieve results.

The key responsibilities include:
  • Financial strategy to launch and scale a new business: building financial models and P&Ls for new business concepts, products, services, and partnerships. This may also include developing the financial plans for service subscription, pricing, and partnership models.
  • Financial planning and forecasting: identify business levers and variables that drive the P&L, and develop the business/operational metrics to provide key guidance to the organization
  • Partner with product management and operations to prioritize customer-centric and financially viable requirements
  • Risk management: identify and mitigate key financial and compliance risks
  • Drive continuous improvements in profitability, free cash flow and operational efficiency

Basic Qualifications

  • 8~10 years of relevant work experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate development or corporate finance in a high growth company
  • BA/BS degree required

Preferred Qualifications

  • An MBA or MS in Finance or a related field
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel/ financial modeling
  • Experiences in SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Passion for startups –understanding of how startups operate
  • Experience in a technology company or high-tech environment
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects - work prioritization, planning and task delegation
  • An ability to work independently and self-motivate in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment
  • An ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions
  • An ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workload
  • Strong interpersonal skills — including written and oral communication skills
  • A desire to grow professionally as the role’s responsibility grows rapidly with the business
  • Ability to effectively work with a variety of organizations, management levels, cultures, and personalities
  • Team builder, ability to lead an effective team
  • Customer focus and professional demeanor
