To organize and maintain safe school operations through office assistance, communications and
directed procedures. Maintains confidentiality of student/staff in information in the school and in
the community.



JOB DUTIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Answer the main phone line and take messages or transfer calls to the appropriate
extension.

2. Maintain office/building supplies.
3. Sort mail & file materials.
4. Assists with attendance.
5. File information & confidential material in student files.
6. Register new students.
7. Accurately enter computer data.
8. Assist with sick or injured children.
9. Work as a team member with other school and office staff.
10. Other duties as assigned.



EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:

Previous office experience in a school setting (preferred).

EDUCATION:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. Bilingual - Spanish/English - written/verbal (preferred).




PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard
office equipment, with the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. with proper technique.

Classification A (Proficiently demonstrates all criteria listed) 

Ability to communicate and interact with staff and co-workers in a professional manner 

Demonstrates positive customer service skills 

Demonstrates confidentiality 

Ability to work independently 

Ability to prioritize tasks 

Demonstrates organizational skills 

Keeps accurate filing 

Maintain appropriate inventories and online file management 

Able to use office machines (ex. laminator, fax, intercom, phone, copier) 

Accurate typing/keyboarding 

Working knowledge of computer programs 

Willingness and ability to learn

Classification B (Proficiently demonstrates all criteria listed, Including classification A) 

Perform reception duties 

Perform student attendance duties 

Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills (parents, staff and students) 

Responsible for tracking and balancing building/department expenditures (if applicable) 

Working knowledge of computer program Word and Excel 

Willingness to learn and become proficient in advanced applications and specialized
computer programs (Mail Merge, Student Information Systems, Business Portal, etc.)



TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Ten (10) month DUSA position – Classification B
