Human Resources Assistant Full-time

Job Summary

Provides a comprehensive administrative support to day-to-day operations of human resources ensuring the efficient delivery of salary payments, recruitment processes, and the accuracy of employee data records. The Human Resources Assistant liaises closely with the human resources department and other departments throughout the organization providing a customer focused and effective HR support service to the organization to achieve the organization goals and objectives.

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for all training of newly hired Resident Technicians, Lead Resident Technicians and Sober Living Managers
  • Identifies training needs and develops training programs to ensure that all Technicians, Lead Resident Technicians and Sober Living Managers are properly trained
  • Recruits staff, places ads and reviews resumes
  • Communicates with Lead Resident Technicians and Sober Living Managers regarding procedural changes and updates
  • Monitors log for procedural errors and significant issues
  • Offers correction to Lead Resident Technicians and Sober Living Managers regarding Technicians on HR related procedural errors
  • Communicates with Lead Resident Technicians and Sober Living Managers regarding schedules, meetings, etc.
  • Participates in employees onboarding by meeting with newly hired employees for completion of the new hire paperwork
  • Schedules staff on a weekly basis ensuring that employees are placed on the schedule according to the needs of the Company and availability of staff
  • Maintains personnel files and follows up on expired documentation (TB, licenses, certifications, etc.) filing away the latest documents, ensuring personnel files are in order with the necessary and required documents, and that everything is accurate and up-to-date
  • Participates in the initial hiring process, including the first and second interviews of candidates
  • Ensures that 90 day, 6 month and annual performance evaluations are performed on time. Sets up appointments for employees and reminders in advance
  • Handles employee of the month, perfect attendance and other raises, bonuses and holiday rewards, etc.
  • Ensures that medical insurance as well as other insurance are offered at the right interval. Ensures that the premiums are added to payroll. Also ensures that terminated employees are removed from medical and other insurance
  • Ensures sick leave, holiday pay, and vacation pay, etc. is accurate and managed
  • Handles time off requests, absences, tardiness, early leave, etc.
  • Calls meeting with employees/Independent Contractors along with Human Resources to speak with employees regarding behavioral issues
  • Ensures written warnings and disciplinary action are issued and then filed away
  • Handles shift changes and coverage when needed
  • Oversees easy clocking to ensure accurate time keeping and fixes missing punches
  • Ensures that daily schedule and bi-weekly staff schedule is completed
  • Terminates employees/Independent Contractors – including final termination paperwork, issuing of final check, COBRA, etc.
  • Responds to EDD paperwork, employment verification requests, garnishments, and other requests for information
  • Attends weekly Admin. meetings/leads monthly staff meetings (agenda, birthdays, lunch, trainings, etc.)
  • Ensures that Ridgeview Ranch adheres to all county, city, state and federal employment laws
  • Has working knowledge of payroll law and how the payroll process works within Ridgeview Ranch

Qualifications and Skills

3+ years training and background in Human Resources

2 + years experience working in Human Resources
