Purpose of Position

This posting may be used to fill multiple vacancies.

This posting will be used to conduct an ongoing recruitment and will remain open until all positions have been filled.

Why does the job exist?

This position is responsible for coordinating all Medical Assistance Division (MAD) fair hearing requests in accordance with state and federal regulations and departmental policies and procedures. Utilizing various systems including the Automated System Program and Eligibility Network (ASPEN), DMZ, and OmniCaid, this position receives and processes incoming fair hearing documents; maintains the Fair Hearing Tracking Database and other applications for quality tracking and monitoring; participates in fair hearings; and serves as the point of contact for the HSD Fair Hearings Bureau. This position also assists with the state plan amendment process, maintaining the HSD/MAD website and performing other functions within the Policy and Provider Services Bureau (PPSB), as needed.

  • Provide expert guidance to customers, staff, managers and other divisions and departments;
  • Collaborate and communicate with internal and external entities;
  • Conduct research to obtain information and resolve issues.

Medicaid clients, providers, staff and managers throughout the division and department.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has:

  • Strong communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Knowledge and experience working with the Medicaid program.

Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Criminology and/or Family Studies/Services and four (4) years of any combination of experience including working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management experience, behavioral health and/or health care. Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT), extensive personal computer and phone usage.
