Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor?s degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama, five years of progressively responsible professional student recruitment experience, three of which were in a managerial or supervisory capacity, and possession of a valid driver?s license and maintenance of a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama.

Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions

Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President for the Division of Enrollment Services, collaborates with academic deans, student services leaders, and alumni office to provide management of new student undergraduate recruitment; oversees special event planning as it relates to new undergraduate, graduate, traditional and non-traditional students and high school/community college guidance counselors; develops and implements strategic initiatives to enhance undergraduate recruitment and enrollment of new students; plans, organizes, directs, and implements a comprehensive recruitment and selection program to identify, attract, admit, and enroll a highly qualified, diverse pool of traditional, non-traditional, and transfer students; supervises staff to include assigning duties, checking work, approving time off, preparing performance evaluations, and handling disciplinary issues; oversees transfer recruitment events; develops promotional marketing plans and materials to promote the academic mission of the University to include direct mail, electronic mail, and telemarketing; develops and implements a sophisticated communication plan for prospective students; promotes new student recruitment through special off campus recruitment programs for prospective students and their families; schedules and organizes three separate campus visit programs per year (USA DAYS) for prospective students and parents; schedules and organizes Preview Night events twice a year; oversees the campus visit program, including coordination with other areas of campus to make each visit special (housing, academic departments, dining services, etc.); serves as the liaison between the alumni association and admissions regarding student recruitment; works closely with the Enrollment Services team to evaluate all special recruitment programs; processes requisitions for all expenditures relating to recruiting and orientation events; plans, evaluates, and manages all functions of recruitment activities; oversees social media platform and communication with prospective students; oversees the recruitment communication plans, territories, tours, and activities through a Constituent Relation Management System (CRM); hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates all student recruitment staff; responsible for all marketing publications including multimedia presentations; writes, designs, edits, and maintains inventory of over 100 recruitment brochures and forms; directs and develops recruitment travel schedule for professional staff,; designs and manages the Admissions web site and the New Student Recruitment web site; responsible for campus visit program which includes meeting with staff and providing tours; serves as a visionary for recruiting new students to USA; responsible for student organizations that assist with recruitment; works closely with Director of Admissions on timelines; sends correspondence to new students via mail, email etc.; maintains inventory of publications, to include recruiting material; moves recruiting materials weighing up to 50 lbs.; gives walking tours of the campus; uses university vehicle to travel to various meeting locations and educational institutions throughout Alabama and surrounding states; works closely with Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services on marketing strategies; ensures confidentiality of student records; regular and prompt attendance: ability to work the schedule as defined and additional hours as required; related duties as required.
