About Hope Faith:

HOPE FAITH is the only Homeless Assistance Campus in the Greater Kansas City area. Founded in 2004, HOPE FAITH?s key principals are to bring humanity back to our homeless guests through mental, emotional and spiritual assistance. Through the kindness of our staff and volunteers, HOPE FAITH provides everything from hot meals; hot showers; medical, dental and optical; counseling; clothing; haircuts; transportation; city, state and federal assistance; and mail services (and the list goes on). All of this in a 48,000 sq.ft. building downtown. Being a member of this organization requires a certain-type of Moxie! As the Accounting & Finance Supervisor, s/he plays a critical role in the efficient and effective management of the overall organization, including responsibility for accounting and finance, human resources, and general operations. They will act as a strategic partner to the Executive Director and will provide day-to-day oversight for the fiscal direction of the organization and will create an administrative environment that ensures programs function at peak efficiency. S/he works closely with other senior staff to shape and execute strategies aimed at helping the organization achieve its mission and thrive!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Fiscal Management
  • Provide comprehensive, timely, and accurate analysis and interpretation of all financial information in order to assist the Executive Director, Senior Leadership Team and Board to perform their responsibilities.
  • Develop tools to manage financial health by identifying what is needed and then create, prepare and present those tools in different forums.
  • For example: financial Board presentations and dashboards for management meetings.
  • Develop short and long-term financial strategy(s)
  • Monitor budgets, including the annual operating budget and all project-specific budgets
  • Provide budgetary guidance to program staff regarding the preparation and monitoring of individual project budgets
  • Coordinate and oversee the organization?s annual financial audit
  • Co-Monitor and Manage CRM database with the Director of Marketing & Development
  • Prepare and ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses and informational reports that are used by staff, the Board of Directors, as well as, externally funded projects and provide timely financial reports to program staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal tax filings and requirements
  • Work closely w/Executive Director & Finance Committee to monitor the overall financial health of the organization.
  • Human Resources
  • Maintain and ensure staff compliance with personnel policies and procedures
  • Serve as primary point of contact with payroll and group benefits providers
  • Serve as the primary interface between staff and benefits/services.
  • Provide new staff orientation
  • General Office Management
  • Maintain a system for implementing and monitoring contracts and grant management and reporting
  • Supervise administrative support staff and manage and delegate administrative work
  • Review and manage organization?s insurance needs
  • Maintain inventory control of all capital equipment and software
  • Oversee the set-up of office space for new staff including email accounts, office furniture, and all necessary communications equipment (e.g., telephone and computer)
  • Ensure program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor?s degree in Finance or Accounting (MBA, CPA, and/or equivalent certifications preferred).
  • 3+ years? (minimum) experience of direct financial management and/or accounting experience required.
  • Ability to work with and in a team of highly motivated colleagues and peers. Team collaboration is very important to our culture.

  • Be able to lift up-to 25lbs
  • Stand/Sit for extended periods of time
