Recreation Coordinator Full-time

at Moving Forward Towards Independence in California (Published at 14-02-2020)

Moving Forward Towards Independence, a unique and dynamic residential/supported living program for young adults with cognitive disabilities in Napa, is currently seeking a Recreation Coordinator.


-Clean driving record

-Clear criminal background

-B.A. in Special Education, Rehabilitation, Counseling or related field preferred; a minimum of six month?s experience working with adults with learning/developmental disabilities required, preferably in a community setting.

-Willingness to work flexible hours to meet client needs.


-Responsible for planning and implementing weekend activities.

-Supervise and monitor the safety of residents while on activities.

-Develop and distribute monthly activity calendar.

-Provide instruction and support around all areas of daily living, including, but not limited to: meal preparation, shopping, hygiene, personal care, budgeting, safety awareness, and maintaining a clean and healthy living environment.

-Monitor and support residents taking medications.

-Teaching client rights and developing self-advocacy skills.

-Transport residents to appointments, social activities, meetings, etc.

-Teach classes.

-Responsible for maintaining professional conduct with clients and in maintaining confidentiality.

-Attend all required trainings and professional development opportunities.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $15.00 to $18.00 /hour

Pay may depend on skills and/or qualifications
