Reports to: Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:

Responsible for managing the financials, providing analysis, and reporting for the assigned business segments.Participates in and may lead aspects of the budget and forecast processes. Analyzes variances and trends, identifies statistics and financial metrics to meet targets, and drives continuous improvement.Prepares financial models that enable business decisions. May lead or direct the work of others.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyze business segment variances between budget and actual and determine the root causes for the variances, summarize and report on findings to business partners
  • Lead aspects of the business segment budget, forecast, and long-range plan
  • Responsible for design and maintenance of planning tool that facilitates an efficient and effective process to construct a high-quality budget or forecast
  • Participate on cross functional teams to evaluate new business opportunities and create financial models to assess opportunities
  • Assist with preparation of materials such as slide presentations, narrative documents, charts, graphs, reports, etc. for parent company and board of directors
  • Responsible for the numbers, results, variances, and drivers as well as the story behind the numbers
  • Develop relationships with business partners where FP&A becomes a trusted advisor
  • Anticipate needs of business partners, create reports or analysis that enable them to effectively run the business, make decisions, accomplish goals, execute strategic objectives, etc.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain business metrics that align with business strategy
  • Summarize and explain financial information and concepts to non-financial leaders in a clear and organized manner
  • Partner with accounting to ensure accuracy of reporting and consistency between actuals and projections
  • Partner with IT to ensure integrity of data across systems such as general ledger, data warehouse, planning software
  • Ad hoc analysis and requests as directed by senior leaders

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience: 6-10 years accounting/analysis experience;Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc;Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including financial modeling.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Licenses/Certifications: Advanced Degree orCPA/CMA, MBA, or Certified Corporate FP&A Professional

Experience: Manufacturing Industry Experience, Report Writing Tools (WebFocus, Essbase, Tableau), ERP systems (IFS), Budgeting Software (Prophix), BI Tools, SharePoint, OLAP environment
