The Role

The Blaster will assist the site by delivering products, blasting at shot service accounts, maintaining inventory, maintain and operate distribution equipment which includes MMU?s and actively seek opportunities at customers? site where Orica could sell services. Promote the organization through contact with the customer in a safe, professional and efficient manner.

Business Environment:

- Moderate physical stress and long hours sometimes required.

- Primarily field settings in various types of weather, some office environment on limited basis.

- Some projects may require travel outside of regional market area.

- Bending, sitting, lifting up to 55 lbs., frequent use of hands.

- Must be flexible to customer demands including work schedules and dealing with weather changes.

- Aware of work environment, i.e. operation of large haulage vehicles and specialized equipment in and around blast patterns.

Experience and Qualifications

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· Blaster License.

· CDL License with Hazmat and Tank endorsement preferred.

· Minimum 1-3 years blasting experience including demonstrated blasting talent in local market area geographic conditions.

· Good knowledge of mining, quarry and construction regulations which pertains to blasting.

· Some computer skills including proficient use of Blast Report Database.

Essential Skills

· Good communication skills to motivate/influence employees and customers.

· General knowledge of equipment and personnel costs.

· Reliable and dependable.

· Promote professionalism within the blasting team.
