Project Engineer Full-time

NIFCO's engineering department currently has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer. The Project Engineer will be responsible for preparing, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring the assigned engineering projects. The successful candidate will collaborate with clients to interpret their needs and requirements.They work with stakeholders at all levels, with direct responsibility for budgeting, personnel and project planning.   • Manage and coordinate all pre-production activity through multiple departments.
  • Support customer requirements for new projects and timing.
  • Participate in design review meetings for new product.
  • Assist in tool design and layout with Tooling Engineer.
  • Analyze lab data to determine compliance with customer satisfactions, provide feedback to quality for countermeasures in meeting customer?s requirements.
  • Responsible for the APQP Process, work with multiple departments to insure all items are completed to meet the customer requirements.
  • Create Project Master Schedule and keep current at all times
  • Input of cost information on cost sheets to supplement Oracle entry.
  • Development of BOM (Bill of Materials) and Routings Oracle.
  • Responsible to keep projects on track and within budget forecast
  • Follow documented SQAM and/or TS16949:2002 quality systems.
  • Coordinate new mold samples to insure to meet project timing.
  • Support and learn the development of other documentation such as PEP (Part evaluation plan) Inspections Standards, control plans, PFEMA and Flow charts.
  • Development of packaging based on customer requirements.
  • VPAC System for Toyota. (Returnable and Expendable)
  • Attend fitting trials at the customer.
  • Able to provide feedback on part fitting issues.
  • Submit all paperwork and electronic information based on customer requirements including PA/PPAP approvals to customers.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and expectations.
  • Behave in a manner that enhances the success of the Department and Company.
  • Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual physical inventory as requested.


  • Bachelor?s Degree in Engineering or minimum of five years experience in Injection molding.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing to create memos, correspondence, and instruction, standards, often of a technical nature to successfully execute essential functions.
  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership ability and effectively participate and contribute to team projects.
  • Must possess a high level of concentration and ability to focus on details.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with both floor associates and management regarding matters such as process, technique, equipment, tooling and other matters that pertain to essential functions.
  • Must be able to utilize computer software to generate internal and external correspondence, charts and graphs.
  • Ability to construct and interpret charts and graphs.
  • Basic understanding of Plastics.
  • Must be able to travel offsite, occasionally overnight (by auto and/or air)
