    Duties

    Summary

    The incumbent is engaged in the right-of-way clearing activities and miscellaneous work pertaining to right-of-way accessibility, gates, fences, and road construction.


    Responsibilities

    • Loads, unloads, and haul?s heavy equipment and machinery with heavy trucks and tractor- semi trailer combinations to and from work sites and other locations.
    • Constructs and maintains right of way access roads and trails which includes installing gates, fences, culverts, and small bridges, grading drainage ditches, constructing revetments and other bank protection, and diversionary structures in rivers, creeks, and streams.
    • Clears high voltage transmission right-of-ways to include mechanical and chemical methods which include removal of brush and trees to maintain proper clearance limits for safe and reliable flow of power. Utilize heavy equipment with bush-hogs, rotary axes, and mulching type attachments for mechanical methods and apply herbicides, according to standards, by spot spraying and broadcasting with boom sprayers for suppression of trees and woody plants.
    • Operates and maintains wheeled and crawler type equipment to include hydro-axes, tracked dozers, backhoes, loaders, jarraff tree trimmers, industrial tractors with bush-hogs, man-lifts, bucket trucks, forklifts, tracked mounted mulching machines, skid-steers and graders for clearing and maintaining high voltage transmission right-of-ways.

    The incumbent must obtain prior to entrance on duty a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and maintain the CDL for the duration of the incumbent's employment without restrictions.

    This position requires the incumbent to live within one hour response time due to possible call-outs in emergency situations at all hours of the day and any day.

    Pre-employment physical examination along with drug and alcohol testing are required of the incumbent. Incumbent is subject to future random drug and alcohol testing.

    Qualifications

    You must have journeyman-level ability in the duties of an Equipment Operator as described in KSA #1.
    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
