Competitive Intelligence & Analytics Lead, VISion Full-time

The Competitive Intelligence & Analytics Lead, VISion is responsible for collecting, synthesizing, and delivering competitive insights for in-line and pipeline indications and helps to ensure competitive readiness throughout the organization. This individual will have an inquisitive mind, an ability to work and collaborate cross functionally, and the skills necessary to collect, maintain, organize, prioritize, and communicate key insights that will drive business success. They will report into the Head of Competitive Intelligence.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Retains an up-to-date and detailed assessment of the competitive landscape, keeping the organization informed of latest developments and helping to determine the potential business impact
  • Collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to identify key intelligence questions and develops plan to answer them using mix of primary and secondary research tools
  • Leads CI activities at congresses, ensuring coverage of competitive activity, pre and post congress reporting, and dissemination of key insights with urgency to key stakeholders
  • Assures that CI insights are integrated into brand strategies which shape launch readiness, competitive response, and tactical plans at the Region and Country levels
  • Understands CI landscape and recommends tools, processes, and services that can improve internal CI capabilities
  • Maintains CI database to ensure knowledge retention and appropriate dissemination of information
  • Works with agency partners to track competitive activity for existing, emerging, and potential competitors and builds appropriate reports
  • Participates in cross-functional planning sessions to ensure competitive insights are used in decision making
  • Manages budget for assigned projects
  • Adheres to Alexion Code of Conduct and ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

Essential Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of R&D/Analytics/ Commercial or BD experience, preferably in rare diseases or an equivalent combination of education (Bachelor s degree at minimum) and biotech/pharma experience
  • Ability to interpret and synthesize scientific data and to identify broader implications for our programs and / or specific opportunities
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience managing work processes and budgets with external vendors
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated track record and ability to drive results as an effective team member and project leader
  • Strong collaboration, relationship building / networking skills
  • Sense of ethics and responsibility
  • Ability to travel as required to meet business needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in competitive intelligence function or similar commercial/ business development function at a biotech or pharma organization
  • PhD, MBA and/or Science based undergraduate degree
