Group Product Owner

U.S. Bank is developing a technology strategy and platform implementation around complex global custody assets. This platform will augment the current custody trading and accounting product to provide clients with extended service offerings around complex and unique assets.
The complex asset product owner is responsible for the architecture and strategy to build out the platform. This position will lead the ongoing agile team technology delivery and will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business systems and user/client needs around all complex asset processing and reporting.
Expectations:
Lead the development of the architecture strategy and create the technology roadmap that is aligned with the business needs around complex assets
Accountable for understanding business challenges and priorities associated with non-traditional market assets
Work cross-functionally with business line stakeholders and IT development resources
Remain current on industry specific knowledge and advancements in the custody product space as it relates to complex assets
Expertise:
10+ years professional experience in banking operations and information technology solution delivery
Working knowledge of complex alternative asset types under custody including but not limited to; Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Limited Partnerships, Fund of Funds, Futures and Derivatives
Strong knowledge and background of custody operations and related technology including trade settlement, asset servicing and reconciliation
Operational background and knowledge in asset servicing that includes maintenance and entitlement processing across all asset types
Detailed exposure to look through private equity asset reporting platforms (e.g. Burgiss) that are often part of the extended custody product offering
Knowledge of market valuation/pricing practices of complex assets
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- 10 or more years of product management experience
- Four or more years of managerial experience
- Strong product management, design and development skills
- Considerable knowledge of product/program development, pricing, implementation and strategic analysis
- Excellent management, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Advanced marketing and marketing research skills
- Thorough knowledge of competitive market, operations and various products and services within assigned area
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Strong financial and competitive analysis and PC skills
