Hospital Front Desk Supervisor Full-time

International SOS Government Medical Services is looking to add a Hospital Front Desk Supervisor to our team in Kwajalein!

Travel, Housing and meals covered.

Salary Range= $30,000- $40,000/year, Medical/dental/vision benefits, 401k options.

The Project: The project is one of the largest outsourced medical facilities in support of the Department of Defense located on Kwajalein and Roi-Namur. Intl SOS is the medical subcontractor under DynCorp International. The scenic chains of Islands are a strategic defense location equidistant from Hawaii, Australia and the Philippines. On Kwajalein, Intl SOS operates a 13 bed, Critical Access Hospital plus a dental clinic, a veterinary clinic, and is responsible for food service safety. Kwajalein is a 6.5 square mile Island where bikes are the primary mode of transportation. Residents enjoy premier scuba diving including access to historical wreckage from WWII, fishing, and quiet beaches. While there is no cell service, data apps work well when using Wi-Fi. Kwajalein is a close knit community of 1500 military personnel, army civilians, contractors and family members.

Description: The Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all hospital patrons by greeting them, scheduling appointments, and answering questions they may have while managing the other receptionists. Responsible for supervising the front desk personnel to ensure meeting or exceeding KPIs and contract deliverables. They will also be responsible for providing credentialing for our Medical Professionals.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes patients and visitors into the hospital and offers assistance with any inquiries they may have including checking them in for their appointment. Answers phone calls and emails in a prompt and efficient manner and routes them to the proper department as needed.

  • Efficiently manages reception team

  • Manages the electronic scheduling system to arrange patient appointments and follows up to provide reminders.

  • Maintains patient records by verifying accuracy of personal and billing information each visit.

  • Manages office inventory and equipment by performing consistent stock checks, anticipating needed supplies, placing orders for supplies and scheduling maintenance for equipment service and repairs as needed.

  • Actively participates in day to day office activities, including a variety of meetings and task force groups to improve procedural processes, obtain approvals, and remain abreast of new developments and policy requirements.

  • Actively participates in Mass Casualty exercises and events. Performance of other duties as assigned.

  • Preparation maintenance of reports of credentialing activities including but not limited to, accreditation, membership or facility privileges.

  • Ensuring all information is processing in line with federal, state and hospital guidelines with processing applications

  • Payment reconciliation: Payment allocations, Deposits to bank and finance, EOB, batch summary and deposit slip storage, Daily allocation of payments for front desk

  • Printing and Invoice submissions, Insurance claims by Email, Portal, Fax, Regular mail and Statement printing

  • Pharmacy Slips, Input into Aprima for billing

  • Patient interactions, Answering questions about insurance payments, Verifying balances Sign Pack-Out forms

  • Administrative, Set up new providers in Aprima

  • Supporting Philadelphia Billing and Coding team, Coordinate with Philadelphia team for resolution of payment issues with insurances, employers, and patients. Provide support in generating Aprima reports, as needed

  • Additional Duties as assigned

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of two (2) years? experience in an administrative role preferably in a hospital setting

  • Prior Credentialing experience preferred but not required

  • Prior experience or education in accounting or billing preferred

  • Medical terminology certification highly preferred.

  • Experience with electronic medical records and billing processes.

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.

  • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications:

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate

  • This position is unaccompanied.

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.

  • US DOD NACI clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.

  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll.

  • A valid passport is required and must be in your possession prior to relocation. You must maintain a current passport during your stay on Kwajalein Atoll.
