JOB SUMMARY

Final Inspector shall apply all basic principles, methods, equipment, operating procedures and inspection techniques to enable accurate inspection of manufactured parts and documentation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Possess the skills and knowledge to manually inspect dimensions and features on a surface plate.
  • Inspect features using optical comparators.
  • Understand all Geometric callouts and how to inspect to requirements.
  • Perform preliminary review of discrepant product
  • Perform shipping/receiving/final inspection
  • Use of company NCM computer systems
  • Have basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technologies.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standing/walking: 20% OTT (of the time)
  • Sitting: 80% OTT
  • Lift/carry:
  • Push/pull: use push carts and pallet jacks to move hardware.
  • Climbing: 2% OTT (elevator is available)
  • Bending/twisting: 20% OTT
  • Kneeling/squatting/crawling: 5% OTT
  • Reaching: 20% OTT, arms extended out from the body with weight requires use of both limbs. Occasional use of arms extended above the shoulders.
  • Grasping/gripping/pinching/fine manipulation: 40% OTT while inspecting hardware.
  • Other physical demands: May have contact with coolants and oils (petroleum based products) and chemical vapors from products during the normal inspection process.

QUALIFICATIONS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Basic knowledge of product manufacturing and inspection technologies.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use computer applications (including email, internet, and other job-specific applications)
  • Ability to use basic measuring instruments and hand tools
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations (add and subtract decimals)
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • Read and write English at a level sufficient to perform job functions
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Communicate and interact with others in a professional, polite, and cooperative manner.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Candidates must be U.S. Persons or if a Foreign National to be eligible to obtain an export authorization from the applicable U.S. Government department.
