Receptionist Full-time

The Virginia Department of the Treasury is dedicated to serving the Commonwealth by providing excellent financial management and outstanding customer service. The Treasury is currently seeking an individual with exceptional customer service and communication skills to serve as the agency's first point-of-contact for our internal and external customers. Front-line responsibilities include facilitating appointments with agency staff; assisting citizens in person or over the phone with their unclaimed property or general inquiries; and exchanging documents with representatives from other agencies. When not assisting customers, the Receptionist provides administrative support to the Treasury's divisions such as sorting and distributing agency mail; opening, date-stamping and mailing unclaimed property documents; assisting with bank stop-payments; and maintaining logs. The Receptionist's schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:15 am-5:00 pm.

Minimum Qualifications

The selected candidate will at least possess the following qualifications: A high school diploma or the equivalent training and experience. Experience working in a front-line, administrative role in a general office setting, ideally involving customer service over the phone. Experience and/or training in computer applications, such as databases and MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook). Excellent customer service skills; strong verbal communication skills; and strong organizational skills. Ability to establish and maintain good rapport with a wide variety of individuals. Ability to take the initiative and work independently as well as a team with minimal supervision. Demonstrated skill and ability to maintain confidentiality.
