Staff Accountant II Full-time

DRDA is a growing 30 person Clear Lake CPA firm that is seeking a Staff Tax Accountant II. The Firm has an excellent reputation in serving small to medium sized companies in a variety of industries . We offer a full range of services including assurance, tax and management consulting engagements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare level 2 individual, business, and state returns
  • Review payroll and sales tax reports
  • Review property tax renditions
  • Prepare and reference source documents, including bookmarking
  • Perform full-charge bookkeeper skills
  • Perform QuickBooks mapping
  • Prepare interim and annual compilations and preparation of financial statements
  • Prepare fixed asset schedules (acquisition & disposition)
  • Research accounting and tax issues as required
  • Assist with tax planning projects for individuals and businesses
  • Consult with clients on accounting software as needed
  • Formulate and recommend solutions for client challenges to senior or manager
  • Meet utilization and realization standards
  • Assist with special projects on request, which may include assistance on audit engagements
  • Available to work during normal business hours
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, after hours and/or weekends as needed to meet business demands with prior manager approval
Technical Skills:
  • Sound understanding of accounting concepts and theory
  • Intermediate knowledge of tax laws
  • Fundamental ability to apply tax knowledge to client problems
  • Proficiency in CS Professional Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, QuickBooks, and Checkpoint Research
  • Able to read and understand technical forms and financial reports
  • Develop an understanding of all of DRDA services
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in accounting
  • 3 to 5 years recent work exp. preparing income tax returns with exposure to various responsibilities in public accounting.
  • Be proficient in CS Professional Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks
  • Demonstrate ability to plan and organize projects
  • Must be able to pass an Accounting Test and background check
