Research Coordinator Full-time

Job Details

  • 1.Assists in developing study protocols for studies related to mindfulness and addictions. 2.Trains and monitors activities of research assistants. 3.Attends meetings, events, and trainings. 4.Assists with scheduling and organization of CMC events related to multi-institutional research studies and primary care partner sites. 5.Coordinates preparation of materials and correspondence with the IRB, sponsors, study participants, referring physicians and regulatory authorities. 6.Recruits and schedules participants for screening, study visits, and completion of measures. 7.Processes referrals and conducts chart review. 8.Communicates with doctors, mental health clinicians, and front desk staff at primary care sites. 9.Organizes correspondence with and payments for study participants. 10.Understands research design and coordinates execution of study protocols. 11.Organizes and performs study procedures as delegated. 12.Develops and programs study forms for data collection. 13.Supports regular groups with study subjects. 14.Prepares participants for experiments. 15.Performs data entry, maintains source documents and databases, and ensures accuracy/integrity of study data. 16.Maintains regulatory binders and study documents, updates protocol and amendment changes, adverse events, and other regular study logs. 17.Ensures studies are performed in compliance with institutional human subjects policies and federal/state regulations. 18.Prepares reports, presentations and correspondence related to projects and for CMC website. 21.Performs literature searches for research team. 22.Coordinates with other co-investigators and CHA/CMC staff for research meetings, development of materials, budget and contract execution, and submission of regulatory paperwork. 23.Helps develop and organize new grant applications submitted by the PI's laboratory. 24.Works with PI to create systems and workflow improvements for the lab and project execution. 25.Conducts extra assignments requested by PI


    Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of constituencies both internal and external to the organization. Ability to process sensitive information in a timely manner and maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to be proactive, resourceful, and respectful on a team. Ability to organize and execute multiple complex projects. High level of cultural competency and willingness to grow in this area. Interest in participating in and shaping a highly collaborative and diverse wider CMC team whose activities span a range of areas including community programming, social justice issues, and health care improvement. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google G-suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides). Has capacity to travel independently and in a timely manner by car to various work sites within the metro-North Boston area and North Shore that may be difficult to reach by public transportation.

    Required Education and/or Experience: 1. Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Pre-medicine, or related field; 2. Interests in both clinical program implementation and biomedical research are helpful. 3. 1+ years of research experience preferred. 4. Experience in mindfulness-based interventions preferred, excitement to learn highly encouraged. 5. Interest in and experience with addictions treatment/recovery preferred. 6. Fluency in English is required. Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a bonus.

    Physical Skills: Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, fax machine, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment. Requires a normal or corrected-to-normal range of hearing and eyesight. Office with halogen and natural lighting.

    Professional Skills: Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Experience with human subjects research preferred.
