Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) Administrative Assistant Full-time

Position Summary: The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the collection and organization of statistical data, client insurance and Medi-Cal billings and general accounting office support.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Intake, enter and/or verify crisis client billing information.*
  • Serve as liaison in communications to ensure all internal and external parties are properly and efficiently updated on current program/client status.*
  • Compile crisis data and prepare monthly statistics for crisis program.*
  • Coordinate with San Luis Obispo County for submission of crisis billings.*
  • Answer phones and assist clients.
  • Receipt and distribution of daily mail.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Characteristics:

  • Graduation from a four year college with a Bachelor?s degree in business, or an A.A. degree with a minimum of two years of experience in a closely related field.
  • Experience with an EHR/EMR and Billing Software highly desirable; Anasazi experience highly desirable.
  • At least three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in technical, secretarial and/or general office support work. Preferably, the individual will have at least two (2) years of experience in a non-profit human services agency.
  • Demonstrated ability to touch-type at least 45 words per minute with at least 95% accuracy, and/or is able to input data efficiently into agency computers.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • A sound grasp of the English language, usage, spelling and grammar, including appropriate business communication styles and formats.

Essential Physical & Mental Functions:

  • Ability to work cooperatively with other staff to enhance the quality and/or expand the scope of programs and services within the agency.
  • Ability to speak and communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and in groups.
  • Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, copier equipment, facsimile and telephone.
