Finishing Inspection Operator Full-time

Primary Responsibilities

  • Follows work instructions applicable to the inspection frame operation to thread and properly set-up equipment for the inspection process.
  • Inspects all fabrics, knitted or woven, to identify and document all defects, according to applicable standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Performs tasks in accordance with applicable Work Instructions (WI), Visual Inspection Criteria, SOP?s, and internal specifications
  • Maps and reports precise locations of defects where required.
  • Performs certain ?quality? checks, which may include EPI/PPI, CPI/WPI, diameter, etc. as described in various applicable work instructions.
  • Labels and packages product as per customer specifications.
  • Determines pass/failure of fabric; contact Quality engineering/Manufacturing Engineering when problems occur.
  • Slits scoured fabric.
  • Maintains a clean inspection frame and surrounding area
  • Completes all associated paperwork & ERP tasks as required.
  • Enters information and uses ERP system to report quantities and time spent on jobs
  • Follows established safety requirements and adheres to Fenner Framework HSE Management System.
  • Performs other job related responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Demand

  • Frequently positions self by stooping, bending, crawling, crouching or kneeling to load equipment and maintain a safe and clean work space.
  • Occasionally climbs stairs and/or ladder.
  • Considerable manual dexterity required.
  • Must be able to see fine denier yarns to detect defects occurring in fabrics.
  • Near sighted vision of 20/20(corrected or uncorrected) required.
  • Frequently moves or lifts materials up to 100 lbs., assisted or 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Requires standing for prolonged periods of time, up to 8 hours or more a day.
  • Frequent exposure to noisy environment where hearing protection must be worn.
