Job Description

Secretary (Job Opening 448275) - The clinical secretary serves as primary point of contact for patients and others utilizing the services of the Imaging areas within Radiology. The clinical secretary is responsible for check in and check out functions of Imaging, and other areas as required at Care Point East and OSU East. This includes gathering pertinent patient information, orders, clinical histories, scheduling, data input for the Radiology Information System. (RIS). The expectation of the clinical secretary is to follow the customer service guidelines provided by the Medical Center and University, caring for each person individually, with the utmost respect and compassion.

Education and Experience

Six months experience (600 hours training) using computers to generate a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex; 6 mos. experience (600 hrs course work) in office practices and procedures; 6 months experience (600 hours course work) in customer service. (Including license, if any.) Some positions require one year related medical secretarial experience or completion of an associate's degree program with three courses in medical terminology plus 3 mos. experience (300 hours training) in use of word processing equipment, consistent with position description. Some positions require 6 mos. experience (600 hrs course work) in supervision consistent with position description. Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen and background check.
