Position Description:

Job Purpose and Scope:

To originate and promote Bank OZK Freedom Advantage Mortgage product in addition to other secondary market mortgage products targeted to low and moderate income (?LMI?) borrowers. To help the Bank foster working relationships with the LMI and minority community, organizations serving the LMI and minority community, and individual LMI and minority applicants.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prospect for mortgage loan customers, particularly LMI customers
  • Network with community organizations and realtors to generate mortgage referrals and other community development related business opportunities
  • Create rapport and trust with customers and referral partners
  • Originate the Freedom Advantage Mortgage and other mortgage products targeting LMI borrowers
  • Take complete, accurate, and compliant loan applications
  • Order credit reports and resolve any discrepancies
  • Input loan information into loan origination software
  • Order appraisals
  • Cross sell customers on the use of other Bank products
  • Proactively communicate loan status and progress to the customer
  • As the originating officer, service the mortgage loans kept on the Bank?s book of business.
  • Act as a liaison for the Bank in the LMI and minority community. This will require representing the Bank at evening and weekend events.
  • Regularly exercise discretion and judgment in the performance of the other essential job functions.
  • Drive an automobile on company business.
  • Maintain good punctuality and attendance to work

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Understanding of the appraisal process and ability to adequately review appraisals
  • Ability to accurately analyze financial statements and cash flows
  • Ability to analyze data and make decisions

  • Knowledge of the basic elements required for closing a mortgage loan
  • Knowledge of basic Income Tax Forms and ability to analyze them
  • Ability to use intuition and experience to complement data
  • Ability to develop alternate solutions

Position Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor?s degree preferred in a business related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years banking and/or community development experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver?s license with a good driving record
