POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the General Manager, primary responsibilities of the Bartender are to meet and exceed all guest?s needs and requests to ensure the best possible dining experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Successful completion and of all new hire orientation, training and specific regulatory requirements.
  • Adheres to privacy, respect and confidentiality of all residents and personnel of the community.
  • Adhere to established safety precautions, including fire safety, when performing tasks, using equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure established infection control and universal precaution practices are maintained when performing tasks.
  • Maintain knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen environment.
  • Assist residents and anticipate needs; meet and exceed their expectations and requests.
  • Develop and maintain an exceptional resident relationship.
  • Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant guests.
  • Interact with guests, take orders and serve snacks and drinks.
  • Assess guests? needs and preferences and offer recommendations.
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Plan and present bar menu.
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
  • Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of wine, liquor beer and menu, as well as guest offerings, and accurately answers guest questions regarding all aspects of the restaurant.
  • Have full knowledge and demonstrate understanding of all menus.
  • Be able to describe items on the menu including ingredients used along with how it is prepared, cooked and, served
  • Be able to identify potential food allergies
  • Be able to understand chef?s specials and have ability to describe them
  • Can suggest the appropriate beverage with meal.
  • Ensure satisfaction and resolve complaints quickly.
  • Stay informed of all events at the facility.
  • Enforce rules and regulations. (i.e. alcohol consumption/purchase)
  • Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants and hazardous chemicals in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Participate and attend all scheduled training and education classes as required.
  • Maybe required to be in attendance of special planned events, parties or other engagements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Previous experience preferred in a fine dining/upscale atmosphere.
  • Comprehensive proficiency with Microsoft Office suite Products as well as Points of Sale (POS) Systems.
  • Relevant training certificate (TIPS-Alcohol Awareness) required.
  • Flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and work in a fast paced, customer service driven environment.
  • Exhibit a sincere desire to work with the senior population.
  • Exhibit outstanding customer service skills and contribute to a friendly and dynamic atmosphere.
  • Exhibit high level of professionalism, courtesy and time management skills.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

The physical and mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without the use of prosthetics that will enable adequate functionality so that the essential functions of the position can be fully performed.

  • Frequent walking, sitting, kneeling, crouching, reaching, bending and lifting while primarily working inside.
  • Physical agility, that includes ability to maneuver body while in place.
  • Physical mobility that includes movement from place to place.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers.
  • Coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, transport and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to hear, see and smell or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Tasks assigned to this position may involve potential and/or direct exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious diseases, air contaminants and hazardous chemicals.
  • Must meet general health requirements as set forth by the policies of the organization which include a medical and physical examination.
  • May be required to work beyond normal scheduled hours when necessary and may be subject to call back during emergency conditions.

May be required to work on shifts other than those which originally hired.

Salary: $12.00 to $15.00 /hour
