Human Resources and Finance Department Administrator Full-time

JB Sash & Door, Boston?s leading window and door company, is hiring a Human Resources and Finance Department Administrator. This role will require the candidate to take on a wide variety of HR, administrative and bookkeeping duties.

The HR and Finance Department Administrator will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating daily HR functions including payroll, benefit administration, employee relations and coordinating talent acquisition efforts including the interview and hiring process
  • Providing bookkeeping support to senior finance team members
  • Processing paperwork including internal reports, employee records and insurance certificates
  • Overseeing administrative systems and procedures across the office

The ideal candidate will have broad HR knowledge as well as basic accounting and bookkeeping skills. He/She must be a self-starter and able to work independently, while also supporting leadership to ensure company goals are achieved. Flexibility in hours may be available and we will consider candidates looking for less than full time.


  • Work with senior members of bookkeeping team to learn current processes and assist in the transition to new methods and systems
  • Perform HR administrative tasks and functions including payroll, 401(k) program tracking and processing reports
  • Research and manage employee benefits and communicate benefit information to employees
  • Support the recruitment and hiring process by drafting and publishing job descriptions, tracking applications, interviewing potential candidates, checking references and conducting background checks
  • Assist with onboarding of new hires
  • Maintain employee records within existing systems and incorporate new systems as needed
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures and update employee handbook as needed


  • Proven experience in accounting, bookkeeping and human resources
  • Knowledge of human resources best practices and processes
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive and enthusiastic team player
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience working with construction or building supply companies a plus
