  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Monday through Friday


We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant or similar who desires to make a difference in patient to join our Behavior Health practice, to assist with administration of a non-invasive outpatient FDA-cleared therapy for the treatment of depression. Certification on the procedure follows upon successful completion of training which is provided. Primary focus will be assisting and monitoring the patients while undergoing their treatments, daily progress reports, billing, as well as answering treatment related calls, responding to written/email requests, and coordinating care with other clinics.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Monitor a patient for medical symptoms
  • Provide medical intervention in an emergency situation
  • Explain and administer procedures to patients
  • Contribute to a positive work environment
  • Act courteously and with tact in dealing with patients, visitors and the public
  • Maintain patient confidentiality
  • Follow established treatment and office procedures
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy regarding all details
  • Manage referral reporting and marketing programs
  • Collecting payment at time of service
  • Triage phone calls as the first point of contact for patients in need of services
  • Prior authorizations
  • Insurance verifications
  • Scheduling patients in person and by phone
  • Interfacing with doctors and patients
  • Perform expedited functions independently
  • Sending letters to PCP?s
  • Starting new clinical files for doctors
  • Assist in completing referral requests from primary care providers over the phone
  • Filing and scanning closed records
  • Sending new patient confirmation letter/packets via email/mail
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

  • Must possess a professional, team-oriented approach with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively in an emergency situation for patient care.
  • Detail orientated.
  • Must possess problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to exercise courtesy, tact and sensitivity with patients and team members.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with exposure to some data management software experience.
  • Experience addressing any patient?s medical conditions or symptoms, including basic life support certification.
  • Experience with operating a medical/mechanical device.
  • Commitment to privacy and confidentiality regarding patient data/personal health information. Experience and expertise in HIPAA regulations.
  • Proven record of job or educational stability.

Education and Training

  • High school diploma required
  • Two years of experience as a Health Care professional in the medical field, primarily working with medical devices or treatments.
  • BLS certification a plus
