    Summary

    About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25 . The position serves as Technical Director and Deputy G2-Security, U.S. Army Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCoE), major subordinate center of the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Duty station Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for overseeing a complex intelligence-related security program.
    • Represents the MSCoE G2 (Intelligence/Security) in their absence, carrying out the responsibilities of security management, and training.
    • Serves as an advisor to the G2 on personnel security, physical security.
    • Responsible for development and publication of security, intelligence related documentation to support doctrine, and training.
    • Supervises all security civilian and military personnel, while directing the efforts of two separate divisions within G2; Security Division; and Special Security Office (SSO).
    • Manage the overall COMSEC Program to include TOP SECRET crypto-facility accreditation, assessment of Senior Mission Commander's requirements for secure communications, and the DA Cryptographic Access Program (DACAP).

    • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
    • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a T5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
    • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
    • Subject to random polygraph examination under the provisions of Chapter 8, Department of the Army Cryptographic Access Program (DACAP), AR 380-40.

    Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.
    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.     To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
    Specialized experience is defined as: Experience assisting with the management of the budget and manpower for an Intelligence & Security office; And
    Experience establishing access control methods and procedures for SCIF and SSO security; And Experience performing technical review of documents containing sensitive information for release/non-release. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12).
    Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled.

    Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.

    Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
