Lead Full-Stack Software Developer - Agile Team Full-time

The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity for a Lead Full-Stack Software Developer position in the Analytics & Information Management Services (AIMS) organization.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for identifying, exploring, and developing cutting edge data analytics solutions.

In this position, you will act as a lead for a software development team and shall primarily contribute to developing products and mentoring junior developers. More specifically, success in this role requires you exemplify what quality looks like and how it is achieved. You will push the team to continuously evolve, teammates to develop new strengths, and to iteratively develop/release products to production in order to capture value faster.
As an Agile Team?s Lead Full-Stack Software Developer, you will provide hands-on development, support, and technical leadership.
Core responsibilities include:

  • To develop products. Apply one?s full-stack software development expertise on the most critical, and high-visibility products

  • To continuously raise-the-bar. Model high quality development and establish higher expectations for the team and the product

  • To mentor. To persistently develop the program?s full-stack talent; with emphasis on cloud-only and/or mobile-first capabilities

Other Responsibilities Include:

  • To represent. Represent the interests and capabilities of the software development team in the context of capacity & capability planning. To champion the right technical decisions for the product team and to support the priorities identified by stakeholders

  • To manage expectations. Support the Analytics & Information Management Services engagement pipeline by scoping new work for technical complexity, effort, and feasibility by the organization

  • To contribute knowledge. Support knowledge management and knowledge sharing activities

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in software development including architecture, software design, and development
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing user interfaces
  • Expertise in Full-Stack Development: HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, XSL, JSON, Java, Python, SQL, Object-Oriented Programming Paradigm, Creational Patterns
  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing software products in a cloud computing environment such as: Amazon EC2, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, etc.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers
  • Experience leading high impact, high visibility projects
  • Experience leading full-stack development, including front-end, back-end, deployment and scaling
  • Experience leading in an Agile software development methodology environment
  • Experience with DevOps, Extreme Programming (XP), and Lean Start-Up practices, continuous integration and delivery, Blue/Green deployment, deploying to cloud environments
  • Experience in end-user analytics and data-driven decision making for prioritization
  • Experience working directly with clients

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Familiarity or experience with: jQuery, REACT, Materialize, Oracle, Node.js, AngularJS, MongoDB, Apache, Spring MVC, Elasticsearch, Cloud Foundry/AWS/Azure/GCP
  • Ability to incorporate Agile, and/or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies
  • Ability to incorporate strategies of User Centric Design, Mobile First Design
  • Ability to incorporate architectural leadership in developing microservices, code reuse
  • Ability to incorporate Cloud-Only approach, and 12-Factor App methodologies
  • Ability to incorporate Test Driven Development, Acceptance-Test Driven Development, Pair Programing, Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery Practices
  • Ability to differentiate between project & product management
  • Ability to work effectively with a global team.
  • Application development targeting mobile devices (Web and/or native application [e.g. Android])
  • Experience with data-driven decision making
  • Familiarity or experience collaborating with Product Designers, & Product Managers
  • Experience training and/or mentoring in a technical environment
  • Ability to quickly understand new technologies and cultivate technology insertion plans
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Typical Education/Experience:
Technical bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
