As a Technical Sales Specialist you will:

  • Create and maintain productive customer relationships, communicating regularly with key decision makes, participating in the strategic planning process, anticipating operational needs, resolving conflicts and presenting recommendations and business solutions for growth, ensuring overall customer satisfaction is achieved;
  • Provide technical and product service, support and direction to current and potential customers, distribution vendors, Company personnel and other third parties, as necessary or requested;
  • Identify, pursue and qualify new business opportunities, driving the entire life cycle of the sale (i.e. strategy, prospecting, pricing, presentation, etc.), developing and presenting proposals and deliverables, and meeting established revenue goals and objectives;
  • Lead communication efforts to ensure compliance with financial terms and revenue collection protocol, partnering with Finance Department as needed;
  • Communicate regularly with all client groups, establishing strong networks, trust and productive mutual business relationships for growth and engagement, regularly completing written call reports of account activities to internal personnel;
  • Identify and anticipate clients? needs and requirements, using industry, technical and business knowledge to recommend and implement innovative resolutions, products and services;
  • Participate and assist in the development, planning and implementation of the product lifecycle, including pricing, analysis, forecasting, marketability, packaging and promotion, ensuring Corporate and global specifications, initiatives and objectives are met;
  • Facilitate and direct the client contract and pricing negotiation process, ensuring completion of required corporate and legal documentation and internal implementation of agreed specifications, assisting as necessary;
  • Partners with the Sales Manager to develop and implement annual individual performance objectives, including new sales targets, career development planning, market development opportunities and corporate business goals, ensuring alignment with Company corporate initiatives and values;
  • Collects, analyzes and reports as necessary competitor information and statistics, including personnel changes, product modifications and innovations, financial terms and protocol and external relationships and affiliations;
  • Support and coordinate with US and global affiliates, colleagues and community on industry-related activities and initiatives, researching and keeping abreast of industry data, trends, activities, statistics, reports and current events;
  • Promote the Company and its interests at industry tradeshows, events, and meetings, and represent the corporate agenda before regulatory and governmental agencies and committees;
  • Create and maintain annual sales budget and overhead expenditures, establishing short- and long-term strategic goals and plans, providing accurate sales forecasts and tracking and producing reports regularly to executive and finance management;
  • Assist internal colleagues with the administration of client-related activities, including invoicing, distribution, and accounting as requested, ensuring adherence to internal protocol and deadlines.

In order to accomplish this you will possess:

  • A bachelor?s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline, or equivalent proven sales experience.
  • Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with people of varying levels and demographics.
  • Previous sales and/or account management experience preferred.
  • Solid organizational, decision-making and time-management abilities.
  • A minimum five years rubber and/or plastics industry experience; previous technical role preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills or experience.
  • Business and industry acumen with a customer service, service delivery or service sales management focus; international business exposure preferred.
  • The ability to work independently and produce results with minimal supervision.
  • Intermediate computer systems skills, internet navigation and database knowledge, particularly SAP and Lotus Notes.
  • Basic knowledge of the assigned sales market, industry and customer base.
  • Professional association membership, society or network affiliation preferred.
  • Domestic and international travel capability.
