Principal Business System Analyst Full-time

We have an immediate need for a seasoned Principal Business System Analyst in one of several locations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Industry Thought leader
  • Practice SME
  • Develops solutions that transform the industry
  • Oversee resource tasks, and product roadmap
  • Liaise with Domain Owner and help drive the Domain Operations
  • Support research and analysis on current and anticipated needs of API Product customers
  • Identify opportunities for strategic product enhancements
  • Motivates and inspires other team members.
  • Responsible for Product Roadmap, architecture and Operational responsibilities
  • Monitor product metrics and propose solutions to improve efficiencies
  • Participate in refining the API Design Standards, Patterns and Best Practices
  • Participate in developing strategies to improve API development life cycle and governance processes
  • Mentor resources in completing their tasks
  • Provide guidelines for project stakeholders and resources on project priorities and tasks priorities within projects
  • Understand the applications supported and their upstream/downstream impact
  • Ensure that system solution options are thoroughly researched, analyzed and documented

Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of working with one or more aspects of the System Development Life Cycle
  • 3+ years of experience in an Agile (Scrum) environment with focus on cloud technology (not IT infrastructure)
  • 3+ years of experience working on mixed methodology program (Scrum interfacing with Waterfall from a dependency perspective)
  • Supported different roles within Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Professional PM methodology trained
  • Experience with budget tracking and complex cost benefit analysis
  • Proficiency in computer software such as Power Point, Excel and Visio
  • Advanced proficiency in interpreting and eliciting business requirements
  • 3+ years or more with the following
    • Responsible for Product Roadmap, architecture and Operational responsibilities
    • Monitor product metrics and propose solutions to improve efficiencies
    • Participate in refining the API Design Standards, Patterns and Best Practices
  • Provide support to Applications Development through participation in Design Reviews
  • Ability to work in Optum Technology offices in MN, NJ, SC, NC and MA
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Product Owner certification
  • Healthcare experience
  • Familiarity with common Agile practices and participation in industry agile communities of practice
  • Experience with CA Agile/JIRA
  • Solid understanding of technologies (service oriented architecture)
  • Solid analytical, problem-solving and financial analysis skills
