Senior Technical Training Developer Full-time

at Entrust Datacard in Minnesota (Published at 08-01-2019)

Position Overview: As a Senior Technical Trainer Developer, this individual will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering technical courses to internal and external customers. Training assignments will include translation of existing training course materials into Spanish language, and providing instruction and developing training curriculum for both hardware and software products and solutions in both English and Spanish language.

Responsibilities:
  • Translate existing training course materials for selected courses from English language to Spanish language. (30%)
  • Research and analyze audience needs to design and develop effective and appropriate course curriculum that meets user and field service requirements within the given product release schedule. (5%)
  • Research and gather product information from subject matter experts (engineering, service, manufacturing, technical support, etc.) and through hands-on learning to develop appropriate training materials for operator, administrator, and maintenance courses. (30%)
  • Maintain existing course curriculum to ensure that materials contain current product information. (10%)
  • Plan, organize, and conduct training classes utilizing approved training curriculum, and adhering to department policies and procedures. (20%)
  • Instruct participants using an appropriate mix of media and methods including, but not limited to, classroom presentations, skill practice activities, web-conferencing, and multimedia self-study.
  • Conduct follow up evaluations to determine effectiveness of course materials and delivery. (1%)
  • Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned. (4%)

Basic Qualifications
  • Associates degree in a technical discipline
  • Multi-lingual capability (English/Spanish fluency minimum)
  • 2 or more years of experience developing and delivering technical training courses.
  • 2 or more years of experience effectively developing materials and delivering training using tools such as Solidworks, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Presenter, Webex, or similar tools.
  • 2 or more years of experience interfacing with internal and external customers and managing projects.
  • Strong understanding of software principles and techniques.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%, with some international travel required.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization for US
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor?s degree in education, computer science, or related field.
  • Experience/knowledge of card personalization industry.
  • Experience supporting Entrust Datacard products and solutions.
  • Multimedia training development experience.
