Residential Worker (Full-Time) Full-time

Direct Support Professional working with adult residents who live in our Huntsville Group Homes.Full-time position working M-F 1st shift 8am-4pm. Seeking individuals who are reliable, dependable and responsible to assist clients living in the group home. Must have reliable transportation for transporting clients as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Familiar with Computer
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Excellent 5-year Driving Record (must have valid driver?s license)
  • Certified in (or ability to obtain) CPR, 1st Aide, MAC, CPI (All trainings are paid and held during M-F business hours 8am-5pm)
  • Excellent Time Management, Organizational Skills, and Detail Oriented

Synopsis of Duties:

  • In the absence of the House Supervisor, assume supervisory authority of the direct care of the residents in the facility
  • Provide consistent instruction, guidance, encouragement and reinforcement to the residents of the home.
  • Regularly implements basic living skills training objectives and documents resident?s progress in a timely manner in the Electronic Health Record
  • Helps to coordinate resident activities in the home and community
  • Regularly completes documentation of staff notes, incident reports, injury reports, shift observations, and other reports in a timely and accurately
  • Regularly encourages and assists residents in the preparation of nutritious meals in accordance with the posted menus and completes meal preparations if residents are unable to do so. May be required to lift approximately 50 lbs, and push/pull or transport client and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure residents comply with home rules, maintain a clean and safe environment to include performance of housekeeping, assist clients where necessary
  • Demonstrate good safety skills including fire drills, emergency procedures and back safety techniques
  • Promotes a positive work environment, including positive relationships with supervisors, residents and their families and/or co-workers
  • Administration of medication must be supervised and documented correctly
  • Attends staff meetings, in-service meetings
  • Must maintain trainings current as required for all trainings/certifications per state requirements
  • Works as scheduled, manages correct time in the time-clock system, requests any time off in a timely manner
  • Reports any facility or maintenance issues in a timely fashion and assist in the maintenance of the facility, equipment and vehicles

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $8.00 /hour

Experience:

  • working in the Mental Health field: 1 year (Preferred)

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
